I need a simpler way to delete the ums . . . in the multitrack editing.

  6. Hey Mike, would you ever do this with just two speaker that have small to med pauses do lag?

  7. Josy Black says:

Thank you for very good video, i just learned how to edit in 5 min because of you! 🙂

  8. Thank you so much for the autogate tutorial. OMG, this will save me hours. I've recorded 10 episodes of my podcast and only managed to get through manually editing 3 of them, given the amount of time needed to manually drop volume etc!

  9. Great tutorial I will definitely put the polywave to good use but the auto delete silence made most of my audio sounded like a chipmunk.

  14. Hi guys, how do you delete silence of many tracks at the same time preserving everything on sync, for example, in a podcast with 2 or more guests? thanks in advance!

  15. says:

Mike you just saved my life and mental health! I've been spending 3-4 hours editing a podcast each week. My boss won't know what happened when I finish in an hour.

  16. A Williams says:

Whoa…just met you/saw you speak at Adobe Max. This is amazing. Just got through HOURS of doing exactly these two steps. Now, I'm trying to consider what I need to do for final step before mixing and uploading to site. Feel free to refer me your video on sequence of steps for multitrack podcast edit. AWESOME again and thanks!

  17. Flo Gure says:

So, I tried to use this technique for the microphone bleed in Audacity with a noise gate but unfortunately it cut out all the pauses and breaths and quietly spoken words alongside the microphone bleed. Can someone help me out?

  18. James Fowler says:

I’m going to try this this morning

  19. Aaronboy25 says:

Hey Mike, thanks for another great tutorial. Do you recommend doing this process before ENCN processing or after?

  20. Dan Curry says:

Mike, great video. I'm a relative novice and testing Audition. Learned a lot from you. One question about your process here. On my podcast, I mix down separate tracks to a single mono file. Instead of applying delete silence feature to polywave files, wouldn't it just make more sense for me to mix down the tracks and apply the delete silence feature to the mono track? Is there a disadvantage to doing it that way?

  21. Gabriel Reis says:

Hey Mike, thanks for the tutorial, but for me it's not working properly. When I apply the dynamics effect, it also cuts audio from the main audio, the one i need. And if I put the noise gate to a lower volume, it starts bleeding again. Is there a solution to this?

  22. Brilliant! I don't thin I'd have a podcast if it wasn't for your videos Mike. Thank you

  23. Rosho Ivanov says:

Hey, guys, could you please tell me where is the Effect-Dynamics from 1:46 in Audition CC 2015? I only have Effects > Amplitude and Compression > Dynamic Processing which looks quite differently. Thanks in advance (:

  24. Thanks for the video @Mike Russell! I don't have CC, just CS6. Would you use Dynamic Processing in lieu of the noise gate?

  25. John Corning says:

THANK YOU!!! I am a perfectionist and this will literally save me 3-5 HOURS ( (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ ) per episode over manual ripple-edits!

  26. Jesse Nelson says:

Hey Mike, when I trigger the Delete Silence, it makes the audio too tight. Is there a way to specify the duration of the silence within a silence being deleted? I'd like to leave a half second or of silence.

  27. Vegeta says:

Slightly different question. I want to record the skype caller directly into Audition. When I put the skype audio through my mixer to record it in Audition. How will I stop the skypecaller from getting a feedback loop? My mixer plugs in with a usb. So when I record what's coming from my mixer, and Skype also has the mixer as it's imput, wil the caller hear himself? I've watched video's on plus minus, but I just don't get why the caller won't here himself. Any help is welcome.

  28. XaosikK says:

Please!!!! Keep doing what you're doing. You're the SINGLE best audition editor ever.

  29. Amazing tips, Thanks a lot Mike 😀
